This role is with a small, driven team of approximately 9 individuals focused on creating infrastructure and applications for a cutting-edge, privacy-enabled blockchain tailored for institutional use.
The team is working on:
- A mobile wallet designed for secure asset storage and management;
- Backend infrastructure supporting orchestration, monitoring, and integrations;
- Infrastructure-as-a-service for enterprise clients.
The project aims to connect blockchain technology with traditional finance, prioritizing engineering excellence, stability, and practical adoption.
About the Role
The organization is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer (backend-focused) who thrives on tackling complex, multi-faceted challenges and can deliver features from concept through to production.
This position is not limited to blockchain or backend tasks alone; it bridges the gap between R&D and product engineering. The successful candidate will sometimes prototype or test smart contracts, integrate them into the backend and platform, and frequently focus on stabilizing pipelines, tests, and infrastructure. They will work closely with the CTO and core R&D team to transform experimental concepts into robust, production-ready systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance backend platform services using Python or Scala;
- Integrate components of the blockchain network and wallet backend services;
- Engage in R&D activities, including prototyping and implementing smart-contract-based features;
- Design and manage intricate workflows across multiple services;
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and testing frameworks;
- Contribute to improvements in scaling, architecture, and system reliability.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in backend development, ideally with Python or Scala (other languages considered a plus);
- Strong knowledge of blockchain infrastructure, including wallets, DeFi, integrations, and smart contracts;
- Proven ability to manage complex, end-to-end tasks from ideation to deployment;
- Familiarity with microservices, CI/CD processes, observability, and distributed systems;
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the flexibility to work across various technological layers.
Additional Valuable Skills:
- Experience in smart contract design or auditing (Solidity, Rust, or Daml);
- Knowledge of enterprise-grade blockchains;
- Background in functional programming languages such as Scala or Haskell;
- Expertise in security, key management, and cryptographic systems.
Team Environment
- Join a small, highly autonomous team of around 9 members;
- Collaborate directly with the CTO and R&D Engineer;
- Benefit from rapid iteration cycles with team syncs approximately every 2 days and minimal bureaucracy;
- Work in a fully remote setting, with team members based in the UK and US.
