Role Overview

The Compliance Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the organisation meets all regulatory obligations and industry best practices. This position oversees the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of compliance frameworks, supporting the company’s commitment to safety, transparency, and regulatory integrity in the digital asset space. The role is based in Sydney and requires the successful candidate to work from the office at least three days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures aligned with Australian financial regulations and global best practices.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes relevant to digital assets, payments, and stablecoins, advising leadership on implications and required actions.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and industry bodies as the primary compliance contact.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance reviews, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and effective.
  • Oversee KYC/AML processes, transaction monitoring, and reporting obligations.
  • Deliver compliance training and guidance to staff, fostering a culture of ethical conduct and regulatory awareness.
  • Investigate, document, and report compliance breaches or suspicious activity, ensuring timely resolution and escalation as necessary.
  • Support new product launches and business initiatives by assessing compliance risks and requirements.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in a compliance, legal, or risk management role within financial services, fintech, or digital assets.
  • Deep understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks (e.g., AUSTRAC, ASIC, AML/CTF, payments licensing).
  • Experience with digital assets, blockchain, or stablecoins highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, finance, business, or related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA, GRC) advantageous.
