The Role
They are seeking a VP of Engineering to spearhead their technical vision and software divisions. The successful candidate's mandate will involve assembling an elite engineering squad and scaling the firm's architecture to handle enterprise-level trading volumes.
Core Requirements:
- 10+ years in software development, including at least 5 years in senior management or leadership roles.
- Proven track record of scaling engineering units within the quantitative trading or HFT space.
- Advanced knowledge of execution platforms, order management, and market data pipelines.
- Exceptional coding proficiency in C++, Rust, or Python.
- Background in distributed architecture and cloud-native environments.
- Demonstrated success in deploying sophisticated, large-scale technical initiatives.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and team-building capabilities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and drive a technical roadmap that deeply aligns with the firm's core financial and business goals.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead top-tier developers while fostering a culture of engineering excellence and rigorous best practices.
- Direct the creation and optimization of the company's execution engines, data infrastructure, and quantitative research environments.
- Guarantee the uptime, ultra-low-latency performance, and security of the architecture at an institutional scale.
- Handle departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and negotiate with third-party technical providers.
- Partner closely with the investment and quantitative teams to unlock new trading opportunities through advanced technology.
- Champion the adoption of cutting-edge tools and the continuous optimization of the technology stack.
- Act as the technical voice of the company in executive strategy sessions, board discussions, and client-facing meetings.
