Company Overview

Our client is a premier quantitative investment firm specializing in high-frequency algorithmic trading within the digital asset space. By deploying proprietary trading models across top-tier global markets, the firm generates exceptional, risk-managed returns tailored for sophisticated allocators. The organization is exclusively focused on serving the needs of institutional and qualified investors.

We are currently searching for a seasoned Chief Operating Officer to spearhead all non-investment business functions during a period of significant expansion. In this role, you will architect and direct operations, manage the technological framework, and establish the rigorous operational standards necessary to scale the business well beyond $500M in AUM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Direct all day-to-day business operations, encompassing trade support, regulatory compliance, and IT infrastructure.
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead elite operations and technology professionals to facilitate organizational scaling.
  • Infrastructure Design: Design and implement robust operational workflows that meet the stringent demands of institutional capital.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Act as the primary point of contact for external partners, including prime brokers, fund administrators, custodians, and third-party vendors.
  • Risk & Controls: Establish and enforce a comprehensive operational risk framework and internal control environment.
  • Investor Due Diligence: Spearhead operational due diligence (ODD) reviews and maintain transparent communication with prospective and current institutional investors.
  • Process Optimization: Champion firm-wide strategic projects and continuous process enhancements to drive operational efficiency.
  • Executive Strategy: Partner closely with the executive leadership team to shape and execute the firm’s long-term strategic vision.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 12 or more years of progressive experience in alternative investment/hedge fund operations, including at least 5 years in a senior management capacity.
  • Scaling Success: Demonstrated success in architecting operational frameworks for funds experiencing rapid capital inflows and AUM expansion.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong technical acumen with a thorough understanding of quantitative trading environments and related infrastructure.
  • Client Facing: Proven capability in managing relationships with institutional allocators and navigating their complex operational requirements.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership qualities with a track record of cultivating high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Problem Solving: Sharp analytical skills and the ability to make sound, strategic decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
